"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe."
- Gustave Flaubert
The debate about whether a murderer is born or made is still a strong debate among scientists. To many people, with serial killers and other criminals, it is obvious that they have an unhealthy mental state, condition, or disease that leads them to destruction and taking the lives of innocent people along with them. But to others, it seems more likely that the similar characteristics of criminals pasts and childhoods is the reason for their foul play; past sexual abuse, physical abuse, etc. is to blame for their crime. Either way though, it seems that therapy, and maybe even an institution where they can be kept from the public, is necessary. Although in the situation of these two young girls, with how young they are, I can’t help but to believe that a more simple approach could have prevented their actions. I don’t know the personal home and life situations of these two girls, but it seems to me that if these girls knew they were loved and adored by their parents, family, and friends, that maybe they wouldn’t have felt the need to turn to Satan as something to look up to. If they knew the love and mercy of God, maybe they would have loved the 15 lives they planned to take as their own, because obviously they didn’t love other people or themselves. Resources
