"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe."

The Zealots were a political movement in 1st-century Second Temple Judaism, which sought to incite the people of Judea Province to rebel against the Roman Empire and expel it from the Holy Land by force of arms, most notably during the First Jewish–Roman War (66–70). The term Zealots comes from the Greek word zelotes that means emulator or zealous follower. Judas was the leader and the best-known zealot.

He was the son of Matthias the priest who founded the Maccabees. What is Hanukkah and is there a Messianic significance? Hanukkah is a Jewish festival lasting eight days in December. Hanukkah celebrates the re-dedication of the Temple by the Maccabees after it's desecration by the Syrians. The Messianic significance of Hanukkah is that Jesus was Jewish and celebrated Hanukkah and Christians in Jesus' time were converted from Judaism.
Black History Month - February 2019
Black History Month is a time to remember the sacrifices made by the brave, the decisions made by the wise, and the lives lost to the cause. It's a time to remember the oppression and suffering that the white privileged put African Americans through. Some might want to blot out this dark thing from our history, but we CAN'T. History repeats itself and racism is a mistake that can't be repeated. Slavery was abolished, now let's abolish racism in daily society for future generations! 1) The prophets provide the primary link between the Old Testament and the New Testament
In class, we've been calling in question God's immutability. Not in a bad way, but in a "for argument's sake" sort of way. So, here's the facts that we know:
And now, some opinion logic: God cannot change in the sense that since God created time, he is outside of time itself; I know, this is some science fiction stuff here. Also God is perfect, therefore God cannot change with his traits or else he wouldn't be God. And finally, God is omniscient, so he may change his mind about a specific situation but he knows the final outcome of everything so it might not count. The important takeaway: God's character will not change; he is the same today, tomorrow, and eternity. We can trust God and the fact that he loves us is forever. The final conclusion: God is immutable (non-changing) and we should take comfort in this. When we hear the world famous name Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., many things may come to mind: His passionate speeches, outrageous courage, maybe even his exciting charisma all for the cause of equal rights for man whether he be black, white, rich, or poor. He dedicated his life to a cause, a cause that made him famous, a cause that showed how incredibly brave and kind he was, and a cause that ultimately killed him. We've all heard of the famous lines, "I have a dream". And most of us have experienced the powerful effects of the words spoken at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963 through video. King had a dream that one day man and women, white and black, rich and poor, would all be seen as equal. As a society we haven't come to a perfect where everyone is seen as equal, and racism is still apparent today, but I believe King would be proud of some of the strives we have made, most of which he started.
"Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!" Christmas... a time to come together and love one another. Well, I spent Christmas break watching TV in an empty house. The lights are pretty and congrats to Jesus and his birth, but Christmas has just lost it's touch to me. Maybe I'm at that weird teenager stage where nothing in the world matters except for me, but whatever it is, I enjoyed getting some bomb new clothes but it ends there... literally... The End.
How guilty do you feel RIGHT NOW?!?! |
Robert Bowers spreading his anti-semitic on a social media platform called Gab, will be charged with 11 counts of using a firearm to commit murder and multiple counts of two hate crimes: obstruction of the exercise of religious beliefs resulting in death and obstruction of the exercise of religious beliefs resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, authorities said, citing a sealed criminal complaint. If Bower is convicted of enough charges, he could be facing the death penalty. |
Robert supported his racist views by twisting verses in the Bible to support his views. Obviously Robert’s perspective of God and others was skewed. He saw God and the Bible as something to twist into his own and he saw people as objects in order to kill them. He used John 8:44 to form his own hatred for Jews. This is a prime example of the hatred so many people groups have to face every single day. Maybe not as excessive as murder, but they face hatred in some way. Weather it be African Americans, Jews, LGBTQ+, or any other group of people. When will we be able to see everyone through God’s eyes as he intended and love everyone? |
