"The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe."
- Gustave Flaubert
It's A Wonderful Life was the performance we put on for the fall play and went very well. I was a member of the cast as Mr. Martini. Before the play begins, Mrs. T gives a message about how if you're dealing with depression or suicidal thoughts to seek help, because this play deal with suicidal thoughts and actions. In the play George Bailey is going to kill himself so that his family will get the insurance money to pay for the $8,000 his uncle lost. Around 800,000 to 1,000,000 people die from suicide every year. That's about one suicide every 40 seconds, making suicide the 2nd leading cause of death. This is a very serious issue and taking opportunities to be a part of something with this message and showing people that they are not alone is very important and very gratifying.
